Juncus kraussii subsp. australiensis

A perennial rush with dark green cylindrical pointed leaves and stems which produce dark brown flower clusters at the tips. This rush is used stabilise soil particularly in estuary banks and riparian zones, and is suitable in areas that are consistently wet, biofiltration systems and raingardens. It favours a damp environment and is able to grow in a range of soils.
